RH wheelhousing/lower trunk extension work

Man, tonight was one of those nights.. I'm having problem with my air tools (I think one of my hoses is clogged with something), I kept getting tangled up in cords, couldn't find things I had just set down, and the damned body panels weren't cooperating.

It was a struggle, but I did manage to get everything finished tonight. First, I patched the bottom of the outer wheel housing, including making a small patch panel to replace some rusty metal on the trunk floor where it bends up to meet the rear valance. Then I spent way too long fighting with the stupid lower trunk extension. I think the panel I got fell out of the stamping machine or something because it was missing one major bend completely, and the lip on the forward edge was obviously misstamped. Some plier and hammer work got it in place, but it was kind of frustrating considering how well the panel on the other side fit.

Throughout the whole ordeal tonight I kept clamping the quarter panel on just to make sure I was hammering the inner panels into the correct location. Sometimes it's really difficult when you're replacing two or three panels that connect to each other at the same time. No issues whatsoever with the rear filler panel to quarter panel joint on this side, thank god.

Tomorrow night I have to clean everything in preparation for POR-15 application. I'm not sure everything will dry quickly enough to get the paint on tomorrow night, which means I may not be welding the replacement quarter panel on until Sunday. Either way, I'm planning on getting it done this weekend.
